The US government has declared its support for a temporary suspension of intellectual property rights for Covid-19 vaccines.

The waiver, previously called for by India and South Africa, but opposed by the EU Commission and UK government, is yet to be approved at the WTO.

The US has declared its support for a patent waiver on Covid-19 vaccines to boost their production and distribution around the world.
