Are governments prepared for another pandemic?

On Health Tech World, a recent YouGov survey shows that 49% of healthcare professionals in various countries agree that health systems lack preparation for managing another health emergency. What can governments do?

Timely enough, life sciences experts Richard Dickinson and Dhara Mulumudi wrote about the same topic in a recent article on the Bristows website. Looking back at the COVID-19 pandemic and more recently, the challenges of the monkeypox endemic, they explore the lessons learned and discuss how pandemic preparedness is key for governments to successfully handle future health risks.

At the heart of this are the initiatives working towards containing future outbreaks - however, without adequate funding from government and others we remain at risk from the next biological threat, which could be just around the corner.
