The Unified Patent Court (UPC) has announced that 21 new technically qualified judges (TQJs) have been appointed and will take up their duties after taking an oath in open court. As reported in June, three of the 51 TQJs previously appointed resigned before the Court opened and one was appointed instead as a legally qualified judge, and new offers of positions as a TQJ would be made to about 20 candidates identified as the most suitable. All TQJ positions are part-time.
