Software development projects - top tips for customers

As part of the wider digital transformation wave, most businesses will be procuring software solutions to achieve efficiencies and transform their ways of working. While some may be lucky enough to get away with only "off the shelf" products, most are likely to need at least some element of bespoke development and integration, if not entire new builds. These projects may range from the building of a small bespoke tool over a few weeks, to the build and development of an entire critical business system over many years - drawing on multiple vendors and requiring complex integration. How can in-house lawyers help to support this process and ensure the best legal framework possible to try to ensure a successful outcome?
