Management of third party IT service providers, particularly for hybrid IT estates, can be a multifaceted task. The sector has developed over the past decade, in particular we have observed that “lift and shift” deals are less common, increasingly deals are multi-structured and that engaging a third party provider is a means for digital transformation.
The modular use of different deal structures for third party IT service provider deals has been driven by changes in technology and we foresee this continuing with the advance of developments involving AI and robotics, something that we discussed in relation to large language models at the recent Bristows “What a time to be (AI)live” event.
