A new legal expert guide on Competition Law and IP rights by Pat Treacy, former head of Bristows competition team

Elgar Competition Law and Practice series

Bristows is delighted to announce the publication of the authoritative resource on the competition law/ IP interface, published today by Edward Elgar. The book has been written by Pat Treacy, former head of the Bristows competition team, drawing on Pat’s wealth of experience gained in practice, including cases such as Intel v VIA, Ericsson v Samsung and Streetmap v Google, as well as numerous European Commission investigations, often focussing on the interplay of competition and IP. Members of the current Bristows competition team including partners Stephen Smith and Sophie Lawrance, and Senior Associates Edwin Bond, Francion Brooks and Matthew Hunt were pleased to support Pat in the preparation of the book.

With chapters considering technology licensing, the treatment of abuse of dominance where IP rights are involved, mergers and IP, IP/competition law issues in the pharmaceutical sector and competition law, standards and FRAND, the book covers many of the areas in which Bristows remains market leaders. We are delighted to be able to offer a discount on purchases – please contact any member of the competition team.
