The Spring Statement was remarkably quiet on the tax front but hidden in the materials was an announcement launching the consultation on widening the use of advance clearances in R&D tax credits. The consultation was published today and will run until 26 May, with businesses of all sizes encouraged to respond. Given the recent pain felt by R&D intensive companies, with claims being stalled or rejected, we expect a lot of organisations will be interested in sharing their views.
